Vice President of Sales/Digital – Universal Music – Universal City, CA

Universal Music Group is seeking a VP of Sales/Digital for the Universal City, CA office. This role will develop, manage and lead all sales efforts for UMGD digital product lines. This position will be responsible for managing the set-up sell-through of all digital music sales as well as new product lines launched by the company, and work closely with the labels to maximize sales and marketing opportunities, and successfully deliver sales goals.

Job Functions:
• Develop sales strategies and campaigns
• Develop and meet sales goals
• Develop strategic sales and marketing plans with retail partners
• Identify and implement new sales account partnership opportunities
• Oversee and manage a team of field Account Directors and Reps, including training, development, and everyday management
• Liaison with label partners in establishing sales, advertising and marketing plans at designated accounts
• Develop and manage excellent account relationships
• Work with Finance to manage P&L’s
• Create action plans to maintain optimum market share

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of account sales and marketing strategies through direct professional experience
• Solid understanding of digital consumer sales trends and opportunities
• Solid understanding of account needs and interests
• Proven experience in managing people and projects
• Strong business acumen and results-oriented focus
• Sales and budget forecasting experience and knowledge
• Proven track record of providing strategic direction and actionable recommendations to senior management
• A good knowledge and understanding of P&L’s
• Ability to operate in a highly collaborative manner and work in pressure situations
• Excellent negotiating and people skills
• Polished presentation skills, ability to appeal to variety of customers
• Ability to craft and deliver executive-level presentations.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management and executives
• Minimum 7 years of sales experience in music or digital provider
