GMG, a producer of massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs), has announced the appointment of Brett Close as company President. Close's first announcement is the appointment of Mary Kirchoff as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Development. Close also welcomes Chaz Sutherland as Art Director. The new employees will be all working from the company's Maynard, MA headquarters.

PlanetOut, the media and entertainment company exclusively focused on the gay and lesbian market, today announced the appointment of Bill Bain as Chief Technology Officer. The firm’s previous CTO, Peter Kretzman, is leaving the company to pursue other interests. Prior, Bain was principal of his own firm, TechPoint Associates, a San Francisco-based technology consulting firm. He was previously CTO of HomeGain, the second-most trafficked web site in the real estate sector.

Mark Horak has been named Executive Vice President & General Manager, Worldwide Operations and New Packaged Media, Warner Home Video, it was announced today by Ron Sanders, President, Warner Home Video. Horak will work closely with Sanders to maximize the division’s overall revenue growth, while exploiting cost reduction opportunities across WHV’s global supply chain. Horak most recently served as Executive Vice President and General Manager, Asia, Pacific and Latin America, and before that was Executive Vice President of Worldwide Marketing.

NBC Universal announced on Thursday it has expanded the roles of three senior executives following the appointment of its new CEO Jeff Zucker. Beth Comstock will assume the new title of President of Integrated Media, responsible for overseeing television advertising sales, as well as digital media. TV ad sales will be managed by Michael Pilot, who reports to Comstock. Marc Graboff, President of the West Coast Television Division will now oversee the Entertainment, TV Studio and Promotions division.
