San Francisco - Obvious Inc. announced that it has put its audio podcast aggregation site Odeo up for sale, so that it may focus more on Twitter, its social networking start-up.

San Francisco-based Obvious said that the Odeo domain, code and database of 3 million MP3s would be included in any prospective deal.

"Were open to a variety of scenarios -- from cash offer to equity position," Obvious said in a blog posting.

In the past month, the site has registered almost 700,000 visitors, 3 million page views and 1.5 million plays via its Flash media player.

The company added that the site doesn't cost much to run, with AdSense covering its hosting fees.

"It seems like Odeo is worth more to someone else than it is to us at this point…We've been having some conversations with potential buyers, and this is our attempt to put the word out more widely in the most expeditious way (and without involving investment bankers and the like)," Obvious said.
