Sterling, Va. - With online video gaining major traction over the past year, Anystream, a provider of streaming video technology, has closed $7 million in its third round of financing.

The round was led by SoftBank Capital and SCP Partners. The company said the investment will be used to grow sales in the media and education sectors.

The company's media clients include Scripps Networks, AccuWeather, Reuters, and MLB.com.

Anystream is also working with many major universities -- including the University of Pennsylvania and Temple -- to provide online lectures.

"Anystream has never been in a better position," said Geoff Allen, the company's founder and chairman.
