Palo Alto, Calif. - Mozes, the provider of a service that lets users share content via SMS text messages, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $5 million in its first round of venture capital financing, led by Northwest Venture Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners.

Users text keywords to Mozes, and in return receive whatever content the owner of the keyword has made available at that time.

Friends can update one another on what they are up to, and create quick text polls, while bands have adopted the service to keep in contact with fans and offer exclusive MP3s or ringtones.

The service is also compatible with IM services like Google Talk.

Palo Alto, Calif.-based Mozes offers one free keyword registration, and charges $5 each for additional keywords.
