San Francisco - Google chief executive Eric Schmidt said Wednesday that adding anti-piracy technologies to its YouTube video-sharing site and other services is "one of the company's highest priorities," and added that such copyright protection will be launched shortly, Reuters reported.

While declining in an interview with Reuters to give a specific timeframe for the launch of technology like a copyright filter on YouTube -- which media firms including NBC and Viacom have demanded -- Schmidt said, "It is going to roll out very soon … It is not far away."

Schmidt also told Reuters that Google plans to make its video anti-piracy technologies generally available to all copyright owners.
