Seattle - ImageKind, a Seattle-based site that lets artists post photography or artwork for sale that the company offers to frame for buyers, has raised $2.56 million in its first round of funding, led by publisher Holtzbrinck and Crosslink Capital, the Seattle P-I reported on Monday.

Also participating in the round was the European Founders Fund, and angel investors including former Expedia CEO Erik Blanchford, PhotoDisc co-founder Tom Hughes and Second Avenue Partners co-founder Nick Hanauer.

Launched in July 2006, ImageKind counts about 50,000 daily page views at its site, where artists are selling 20 to 30 images each day.

ImageKind CEO Kelly Smith told the Seattle P-I the company will use the funds to develop new services and expand overseas.
