Redwood City, Calif. - YuMe Networks, an online advertising network optimized for broadband video, has announced its official launch, with backing of over $7 million in venture capital from investors including Khosla Ventures, Accel Partners and BV Capital.

Redwood City, Calif.-based YuMe Networks' service allows advertisers to place ads targeted directly at specific categories of online video, such as Auto, Finance or Entertainment, and ensures that user-generated videos on its network are "brand safe."

"YuMe will for the first time give advertisers the ability to place ads alongside contextually relevant content, ending current run of site buys that are neither effective nor transparent," said Jayant Kadambi, co-founder and CEO of YuMe Networks.

"Now advertisers can see exactly when and where their ads appear, get real time measurement of their audience and change creative to drive greater effectiveness in online video campaigns."
