3D Community Developer Gemini Mobile Raises $20 Million

San Mateo, Calif. - Gemini Mobile, a developer of wireless software infrastructure, including a 3D community platform for mobile phones, announced on Thursday that it has received a $20 million investment from Goldman Sachs.

San Mateo, Calif.-based Gemini Mobile's eXplo 3D mobile community was recently deployed on S! TOWN, a service from Softbank Japan that has attracted over 100,000 subscribers in its first four months.

The company's multimedia messaging technology has also been integrated by multiple carriers in Japan, Hong Kong, Italy, South America and Poland.

Other investors in Gemini include Japan's Mitsubishi-UFJ, Mizuho and Tokyo Marine.

The company will use the funds for working capital, general business purposes and international expansion.
