Hertzliya, Israel - Mobile game developer Vollee (formerly Game Steam) announced on Thursday that it has raised $4 million in its first round of venture capital financing, led by BlueRun Ventures with participation from Benchmark Capital.

Israel-based Vollee provides porting services for existing PC and console games onto 3G devices, that the company says takes less than a month and doesn't require access to the game's original source code.

The company sells the games it licenses on a mobile portal, and also distributes them through mobile network partners to 3G subscribers.

"By leveraging the existing assets from game owners and the new 3G capacity of mobile carrier networks, Vollee is leading the way to enabling the most advanced mobile gaming platform in the world," said Vollee CEO Yossi Hasson.
