San Francisco - Online social network Imeem announced on Thursday that it has partnered with Snocap, the digital music registry and content identification firm, to provide content identification services, and allow record labels and artists to promote themselves and earn ad revenue from songs they stream on Imeem.

Snocap's registry authenticates against over 3 million tracks whose owners have set their own business rules.

All of Snocap's registered labels and unsigned artists will be invited to participate on the Imeem service, which is set to debut in the second quarter of 2007.

Launched in early 2006, San Francisco-based Imeem, which focuses on music, now counts 16 million monthly users.

"Our partnership with Snocap brings a trusted content identification and registry system to the imeem business model and will allow us to offer a user-friendly way for content owners and artists to control their content and monetize it," said Imeem founder and CEO Dalton Caldwell.
