Mountain View, Calif. - Akamai Technologies, a provider of content delivery network services, said on Wednesday that it has completed its acquisition of Netli, a Mountain View, Calif.-based developer communications protocol technology.

Under the terms of the deal, Akamai issed about 3.2 million shares of its stock.

Akamai said that the acquisition will enhance its application acceleration technologies, which are designed to improve the performance of Web-based applications.
