BurnLounge Adds Social Networking Feature, Free Stores to ServiceAuthored by Scott Goldberg on March 14, 2007 - 7:01am.
Austin, TX – BurnLounge, a digital music service that lets customers create their own digital stores and sell music, has announced the launch of BL2, its new digital download and entertainment software, and BurnPages, a social networking feature. The company also announced in a press release that customers will be able to open digital music stores for free, a departure from its pay-as-you-go model. The move will allow BurnLounge to “cast a wider net,” as Stephen Murray, co-founder, President of Entertainment, and Chief Creative Officer said. As of today the company has around 50,000 digital stores.
Alex Arnold, CEO and co-founder said, “For years, fans have been spreading the word about their favorite music, movies and more. With BL2 users can open their own free customizable digital download Store to showcase their favorite entertainment and earn rewards for doing what comes naturally.”
BurnPages, a social networking suite not limited to BurnLounge customers, will allow members to advertise and showcase their favorite movies and music. “BurnPages is the centerpiece of the BurnLounge experience and is unlike anything else on the Web today,” said Ryan Dadd, co-founder and COO. “It brings social networking to a whole new level with an ever-expanding library of customizable widgets.”
Both BL2 and BurnPages are available to current members and retailers, and will be released to the public in April. tags: Social Networking | Music | BurnLounge | Digital Music | Stephen Murray | Ryan Dadd | Alex Arnold |
