Ned - new headshot Dear Readers,

I have a few cool announcements to share with you. First, we’re launching two new conferences this year: The Future of Film, next Wednesday, March 21 at the Writers’ Guild Theater in Beverly Hills, and our groundbreaking Millennials Conference, Wednesday, April 18th at UCLA.  Both feature dynamic speakers from leading media and Web 2.0 companies, as well as candid open discussion and lots of opportunities for networking!

If you haven’t signed up for Future of Film, it’s not too late. No matter what field of digital media you’re in, you don’t want to miss Revver CEO Steven Starr’s roundtable with some of the most popular internet video creators like Ask A Ninja and Sam Has 7 Friends. Other speakers for the conference include top executives from Sony Pictures, Disney, Warner Bros, Netflix, Lycos, Fox Searchlight, and filmmaker Jason Kohn, the 2007 winner of the Sundance Grand Jury Prize.

I’m also pleased to announce two exclusive DMW networking mixers in Los Angeles this month. The first is at the hip Hollywood nightclub Mood  following the Future of Film conference, March 21. There will be free appetizers and drinks and music by DJ Crash. The event is sponsored by DLP Texas Instruments. The guest list is filling up fast and you must RSVP to attend. RSVP at mood@digitalmediawire.com.

For the second we are moving from the hills of Hollywood to Venice Beach, where we are hosting a unique mobile art event at The Venice Contemporary, from 7-10pm, Saturday, March 31.  This event will be a first in the art world and it is also free to you, our community, on a first-come-first-served basis.  RSVP at gallery@digitalmediawire.com.

It’s going to be a busy, fun spring. Don’t miss the opportunity to attend these events and network with the brightest and most innovative people in digital media.

Last, but not least, I would just like to point out that it could not have been a better start to the year than our biggest ever Digital Music Forum East on February 27-28 in New York City! Not only did we break an attendance record with over 500 attendees, we also had fun networking with you at our showcase at the Knitting Factory, as well as at the VIP Reception at the Swedish Consulate! Thanks again to all who sponsored, spoke, and attended for making this event the “must-attend” music event it has become. We hope to see you at our west coast event in LA on October 3-4, 2007. I promise even more heated discussions on topics from DRM to digital copyrights to social media!

Meanwhile, stay informed with DMW online.  I hope to see you soon!

Best regards,
Ned Sherman
