New York
- Cellufun, a distributor of free, ad-supported multiplayer mobile games, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $3 million in its first round of venture capital financing, led by Longworth Venture Partners.

Founded in 2005, New York-based Cellufun claims 2 million monthly visitors to its site that lets users download games like Chess, Sudoku and Mobile Pets to their phones and engage one another in multiplayer gaming.

The company generates revenue from WAP banner ads, in-game ads and product placement.

Cellufun will use the funds for product development, sales and marketing.

*Correction: The original version of this story incorrectly referred to the company as "Cellfun," instead of "Cellufun," and provided an incorrect URL. DMW regrets the error.
