Los Angeles - Microsoft said on Wednesday that an investigation into possible fraud on its Xbox Live online game service found no evidence of a security breach, Reuters reported.

"We want to reassure all of our 6 million Xbox Live members that we have looked into the situation and found no evidence of any compromise of the security of Bungie.net or our Live network," the company said.

After media reports earlier this week cited users' accounts of having their Xbox Live accounts hacked and used to purchase virtual currency, Microsoft announced it would investigate the matter.

The company did say it found "a few isolated incidents where malicious users have attempted to get personal information from unsuspecting users and to use that information to get access to the victim's Live accounts," Reuters reported.
