San Antonio, Texas - AT&T announced on Monday that it has signed a deal with Napster to offer its wireless and broadband customers one free year of the digital music provider's Napster To Go portable service.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Beginning April 1, AT&T/Cingular mobile subscribers and AT&T broadband subscribers across the company's 22-state footprint will be offered the free Napster To Go subscription -- valued at $180 -- which AT&T will promote with broadcast, print, online and in-store ads.

"Merging communications with entertainment -- in this case, linking Napster To Go's rich library of music to our wireless and broadband services -- again shows that we are committed to delivering enhanced content across key screens both at home and on the go," said Rick Welday, chief marketing officer of AT&T Consumer.

News of the deal sent Napster shares 10% higher on Monday.
