San Francisco - Publisher IDG announced on Monday that it will shutter the print edition of its 29-year-old InfoWorld technology business magazine, opting instead for an online-only version. The magazine's last issue will be mailed to subscribers and arrive on newsstands next week. "We're not going anywhere. We are merely embracing a more efficient delivery mechanism -- the Web -- at InfoWorld.com," said editor-in-chief Steve Fox. "You can still get all the news coverage, reviews, analysis, opinion, and commentary that InfoWorld is known for. You'll just have to access it in a browser (or RSS reader) -- something more than a million of you already do every month." The company added that it will also maintain its events division.

Not enough reach vs. CNET Networks' Business sites.

Doubt Infoworld will succeed online. One example is that CNET Networks Business sites: www.BNET.com , www.ZDNet.com , www.TechRepublic.com , and News.com serve more business technology decision makers than the COMBINED REACH of InfoWorld, eWeek, Information Week, AND ComputerWorld online.
