New York - Sirius Satellite Radio announced on Thursday that Chrysler Group will be the first automaker to offer its new in-car satellite TV service in its 2008 model year vehicles.

Sirius Backseat TV features family-oriented TV programming -- from providers including Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network -- delivered via two small, roof-mounted antennas to backseat video screens.

The system allows those in the front seat to continue to listen to Sirius radio programming, and also view TV programming on a front-seat screen while the vehicle is in Park.

The Sirius Backseat TV system will be offered for $470, which includes the first year of service; programming will subsequently cost $7 per month.

Chrysler Group will offer the system on select 2008 model Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles, beginning with the all-new 2008 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans, available later this year.

I couldn't expect less from

I couldn't expect less from Chrysler, they always knew to predict people's needs. Apparently Satellite TV Services will also be available for cars in the near future. That's a great car gadget if you ask me...

Great point
