Apple iPhone Scheduled for Release on June 11

San Francisco - CNET News.com reports that Apple's much-anticipated iPhone has been given a release date of June 11.

A customer service manager at Cingular -- the carrier which will initially serve as exclusive distributor of the device -- confirmed the date for News.com on Thursday.

The date is also the first day of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.
