Topanga, Calif. - Zaadz.com, an online social network "founded on the principles of conscious capitalism," announced on Friday that it has received an investment from Whole Foods CEO John Mackey.

Financial details of the investment were not disclosed.

Topanga, Calif.-based Zaadz says its nearly 50,000 members are "passionate about improving their lives and changing the world."

The company said it will use the funds to roll out a suite of tools intended to help owners of socially conscious small businesses develop communities around their brands.
