Report: European Game Developers Earn 33% Less than North Americans

London - According to a new survey, European video game developers earn on average about a third less than those doing the same jobs in North America, GamesIndustry.biz reported.

The salary survey, conducted by Game Developer magazine, found average salaries across the industry ranging from $70,800 for business and legal department staff, to $60,000 for production staff; $53,500 for programmers; $46,100 - $47,700 for game designers and audio specialists; $45,850 for visual artists; and $34,700 for QA staff.

"Game designers in Europe are making 25% less, business and legal staff are making 26% less and programmers are making 33% less," the report said, while noting that salaries are "steadily increasing."
