Santa Monica, Calif. - News Corp.'s MySpace has announced plans to hold a mock presidential election for the millions of MySpace users residing in the U.S.

Results from the vote, to be held on Jan. 1-2, will be posted on the company's Impact channel, which currently features links to profiles of 13 presidential hopefuls.

"Iowa and New Hampshire may be selecting delegates, but the MySpace vote will be the first test of where candidates stand in the election year," said MySpace president Tom Anderson.

Before the virtual election, MySpace will also conduct straw polls of its members.

Actually, they do have a link so people can register to vote. Plus links to each candidates MySpace page. So it would seem MySpace is using a cool experiment to get its users interested in voting.
(p.s. I don't have a MySpace page, but I'm all for organizations that encourage people to get out there and vote)
