Silver Spring, Md. - With a strong focus on interactive applications and online content, Discovery Communications announced plans on Thursday for a television network -- called Discovery PlanetGreen -- focused on "green lifestyle" programming.
The channel is part of a re-branding of it existing Discovery Home Channel.
The company said the initiative includes a $50 million investment in original content and multi-platform offerings.
The channel is scheduled to launch in 2008 with an expected reach of 50 million U.S. households.
