Sioux Falls, S.D. - LodgeNet, a provider of in-room broadband and interactive entertainment services to hotels, announced on Thursday that it has completed its $380 million acquisition of rival On Command from Liberty Media, creating a network that serves more than 1.8 million hotel rooms in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

Liberty becomes a 9.2% shareholder in South Dakota-based LodgeNet.

The company also announced that it has secured a $675 million credit facility. LodgeNet said $50 million will be used for general corporate purposes, while the rest of the funds will be used to finance the acquisition, refinance outstanding debt, and fund a pending offer to purchase $200 million in notes.

"A great interactive experience is a key differentiator for hotel guests," said LodgeNet president and CEO Scott C. Petersen.

"Over the past several years we have grown from a company that primarily focused on video on demand to a company that delivers a wide variety of interactive solutions that connect, inform and entertain customers of visitor and guest-based businesses."
