Online Publisher HowStuffWorks Raises $75 Million

Atlanta - HowStuffWorks, a provider of online educational content about practical subjects, has raised $75 million in venture capital, according to published reports.

Investors in the deal include Capital Research & Management and Chilton Investment Co., the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported.

HowStuffWorks is partnering with ViTrue to launch an online instructional video content service to complement its online text-based information.

The Atlanta-based company was founded by North Carolina State University professor Marshall Brain in 1998.
