Los Angeles - Yahoo is in talks to acquire online college sports network Rivals.com, for a purchase price that could reach $100 million, PaidContent.org reported, citing anonymous sources.

Founded in 2001, Tennessee-based Rivals.com has an existing deal with Yahoo to share sports content, and also distributes its stories and team data to AOL, USAToday.com, MSNBC.com and SI.com.
