New York - Time Inc. will shutter its TeenPeople.com website this month and direct visitors to teen-related stories on People.com, MediaWeek reported.

The move comes less than a year after Time ceased publishing the print edition of Teen People.

TeenPeople.com attracted 435,000 unique users in March 2006, but by last month traffic had fallen off to the point that it was not high enough to even register in Nielsen/NetRatings rankings.

"We decided to do this because as we look at the activity on People.com, stories about teen-centric celebrities do very well, and we get a nice amount of teen-demo traffic," People.com editor Mark Golin told MediaWeek.

"We've got traffic on TeenPeople, People is a larger site, why not combine and have the teen traffic going to one place?"
