New York - Major record label Warner Music Group has demanded that standalone MP3 albums from its artists be removed from AnywhereCD, a music venture launched yesterday by MP3.com founder Michael Robertson, Reuters reported.

Warner said the store's sale of full albums without digital rights management (DRM) violates their agreement.

"Accordingly, we have sent them a notice of termination and they are required to immediately remove all of our content from their site," Warner said in a statement.

However, the demand appears only to pertain to the standalone MP3 albums, as Warner is allowing AnywhereCD to sell CDs where the purchase price includes a digital copy of the album in the unprotected MP3 format.
