Digital Media Collaboration Software Firm MESoft Raises $6 Million

Burbank, Calif. - MESoft, a developer of remote collaboration and secure distribution software for media producers, announced that it has raised $6 million in new funding, from a group led by Peninsula Equity Partners and Sid R. Bass Associates.

Burbank, Calif.-based MESoft's software is integrated into digital media products offered by Avid, Sun, IBM, Ascent Media and others.

The company said its software has been utilized by content producers such as Touchstone Television, MGM, MTV, Warner Bros. Television, Paramount Pictures and The Weinstein Company, on productions including "Lost" and "Grey's Anatomy."

MESoft plans to use the funds to build out its management team, expand sales and marketing and extend the scope and functionality of its product line.
