Cannes, France - Video game publisher Electronic Arts announced on Monday that it has partnered with TV producer Endemol on Virtual Me, a project that will combine avatar creation technology with Endemol's reality TV shows and launch a variety of online competitions.

The collaboration will allow users to participate in virtual versions of shows like "Deal Or No Deal," "1 vs 100," "Fame Academy" and "Operacion Triunfo."

The companies will form an integrated team to create entertainment for TV, online and other platforms; VirtualMe.com is slated to launch in the coming months.

"With Virtual Me we are at the forefront of a new, hybrid form of entertainment that takes gaming beyond the console," said Gerhard Florin, executive vice president and general manager, EA International.
