Las Vegas - Video game publisher Electronic Arts announced on Tuesday that it is making the musical scores from titles including "The Sims" and "Medal of Honor" available for use in TV, film and other media productions through an agreement with APM Music.

A joint venture of EMI Music Publishing and BMG Music Publishing, APM Music provides a library of over 225,000 recordings licensed for commercial use.

APM and EA worked to edit the game scores into an initial batch of 10 CDs, with titles like "The Sims: Jazz Lounge" and "EA Sports Rock"; an additional 10 CDs are planned for release each year.

"With the industry selling over $10 billion in games a year and leading titles moving more than a million units each, the public has built up a familiarity with this form of entertainment and the music that accompanies it," said Steve Schnur, EA's worldwide executive of music and marketing.
