Oslo, Norway - The Liberal Party of Norway has unanimously passed a resolution that advocates the legalization of free file-sharing, taking a similar stance to The Pirate Party formed in neighboring Sweden, Wired reported.

The Young Liberals of Norway proposed the resolution, which also calls for free sampling of copyrighted works for use in new creations, and a ban on digital rights management.

"We want to advocate collecting, use, improvement and spreading of all culture, ideas and innovation for non-commercial use," said Jonas Stein Eilertsen, cultural spokesperson for the Young Liberals.

"I have faith in this as a radical and modern solution that still ensures artists' rights to revenue and attribution," said Liberal Party chairwoman Skei Grande.

Founded in 1884, The Liberal Party claims about 5.9% of the popular vote in Norway.
