Roslyn, N.Y. - Zude, a provider of personal website and online profile creation technology, has raised $5 million in a private placement and intends to launch its service to the public on May 1, Mashable.com reported.

The company is being launched by New York-based Fifth Generation Systems, which also created the open5G programming language.

Zude will allow users to drag-and-drop any content from the Web onto their Zude pages, where it can be resized, manipulated and organized to a user's liking.

The company plans to generate revenue off of ads placed on the sites of free account holders, and annual fees from users who wish their pages to remain ad-free.

Zude versus ZCubes

Zude seems to have copied stuff from all over the places. Check out ZCubes (www.zcubes.com) and you will get to see all these functionalities and a lot more already there for last 6 months.
