Qtrax Licenses Sony BMG Catalog for Ad-Supported P2P Music Service

New York - Qtrax announced on Monday that it has signed an agreement with major label Sony BMG, to add the label's catalog to its ad-supported, legal peer-to-peer music service.

Qtrax, a unit of New York-based Brilliant Technologies, said that users will be able to listen to Sony BMG songs for a predefined number of times; with each play, Qtrax users will be provided with links to purchase the songs.

Qtrax has also signed agreements with Warner Music Group, EMI Music and EMI Music Publishing, Sony/ATV, Universal Music Publishing, The Orchard, ASCAP, BMI and others.
