MySpace Unblocks User-Generated Videos Hosted on Photobucket

Palo Alto, Calif. - Photobucket, a provider of online photo and video hosting services favored by MySpace members, said on Tuesday that Photobucket videos are once again visible on MySpace, following discussions with the company.

Earlier this month, MySpace blocked Photobucket videos from being uploaded or viewed on the social network; the company has also blocked various other services and third-party widgets, citing terms of use violations and other reasons.

"Moving forward, we've established open lines of communication and procedures with MySpace to prevent a sudden block of Photobucket content in the future," Photobucket CEO Alex Welch wrote, on the company's blog.

"We want our users to be able to share their content and understand it must be within the framework of MySpace's Terms of Service for it to appear on the site."

Photobucket counts 40 million users, and says more than 50,000 videos are uploaded to its service each day.
