Las Vegas - CBS Television Stations announced on Monday that it has partnered with Microsoft to enable its local TV stations to collect user-generated news, photos and videos.

CBS will utilize Microsoft's recently introduced Silverlight on the project, a video plug-in similar to Adobe's Flash.

When launched in select markets later this year, local TV station websites will let users upload, as well as rate, comment, sort and search video, images, audio and text submissions, which may potentially be added to CBS news broadcasts or online news stories.
