New York - Global information and news agency Reuters announced on Monday that it has acquired ClearForest, a provider of text analytics technology. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"This technology has the potential to impact the user experience across all Reuters products," said Gerry Campbell, global head of search and strategic development at Reuters.

"ClearForest has developed a superior, commercially proven technology in the field of Text Analytics that will make it immensely easier for our customers to find, understand and navigate our content."

Reuters said it will maintain the company's existing management team and staff in Waltham, Mass. and Israel.
