Port Washington, N.Y. - The NPD Group, a provider of consumer and retail information for a range of industries, has acquired the consumer electronics, imaging, and computer business sectors of market research firm Current Analysis.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The new entity will be called Current Analysis West, NPD said.

The company said that the acquisition strengthens its position in the sales and marketing information industry.
