Cambridge, Mass. - ScanScout, a developer of technology for online video distributors and advertisers, has raised $7 million in its first round of venture capital, led by General Catalyst Partners, according to a report in Mass High Tech on Friday.
ScanScout's technology is designed to provide brand protection to advertisers and publishers to ensure that advertisers' brand messages will only be seen adjacent to the most appropriate content.
"The technology has been built," Doug McFarland, CEO of ScanScout, was quoted as saying in the article.
"We need to now focus on adding features and scaling product development and people."
