Menlo Park, Calif. - Power Challenge, a developer and publisher of online sports games, announced on Monday that it has received an $8 million investment from venture capital firm Benchmark Capital.

Founded in 2004, Karlskrona, Sweden-based Power Challenge offers free, online multiplayer sports titles including "Power Challenge" and "ManagerZone,"  where players can play on or manage a soccer team.

The company will use the funds to develop new titles, enhance the quality of existing games and expand the company's global infrastructure.
