Manage the entire new 24/7 CBS Mobile Ad Sales Team. Create an efficient department and handle all recruiting, hiring and team development. Must have a strong knowledge of wireless technologies and the current advertising market within wireless including all of the platforms that are currently deployed today and emerging in the near future.
- Must have extensive experience selling television ads for a broadcast or cable network
- Should have outstanding contacts within the industry especially on the advertiser and agency side
- Must be creative and able to quickly grasp new technologies
- Must have a strong knowledge of wireless technologies and the current advertising market within wireless including all of the platforms that are currently deployed today and emerging in the near future
- Experience managing a budget within a large corporation
- Experience and examples of reaching and exceeding sales targets
- Experience building out teams and infrastructure
- Experience implementing and overseeing ad campaigns
- Ability and examples of highly creative sales collateral and presentations
- Experience directing the art and development of assets to be used in sales collateral and presentations
- Experience interfacing with the promotion, scheduling, trafficking, ad sales and show executives
- Excellent client management and communication/ interpersonal skills
- Experience with youth demographics preferred
- Must be self-starter, proactive and willing to learn & grow with the business
- Ideally understand mobile usage and possess experience with mobile video and other products
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, business writing skills required
- Must be proficient in MS Office
- Ability to work well with Executive team
Role & responsibilities:
- Manage the entire new 24/7 CBS Mobile Ad Sales Team
- Create an efficient department and handle all recruiting, hiring and team development
- Build department budgets, projections and accounting procedures
- Reach or exceed sales targets
- Oversee all the ad campaigns and ensure they are executed properly
- Ensure all contractual obligations are met or exceeded
- Manage the relationships with advertising partners and agencies
- Work closely with the network and interactive sales forces of CBS, SportsLine, CSTV and the CW
- Handle all applicable negotiations and contracts
- Create departmental procedures and operations
- Oversee the development of sales collateral and presentations including working with graphics, motion graphics and video teams
- Develop cross-links from mobile video to internet and TV shows and vice versa
- Coordinate approval processes, both internal and external (Standards, Legal, Creative, Development, Technology)
- Create the network ad sales strategy and vision
- Help drive PR efforts and increase visibility through press and ad sales efforts
- Interface with executives from traditional broadcast network and create a cohesive ad sales strategy and implementation of synergistic networks
- Work closely with VP, Mobile Television to integrate needs of traditional broadcast network promotional and advertising sales groups into the network strategy
- Interface with sister networks and productions and create ad sales opportunities and strategies
- Create and present reports on the network’s ad sales achievements and status within the industry and as it compares to other networks
- Learn about the new mobile tv medium and become and expert on consumer profiles, consumption, habits and needs
- Become an expert on mobile television technologies and position the network to be leading edge and highly innovative while taking advantage of new and emerging technologies
