San Antonio, Texas - Radio giant Clear Channel announced on Monday a new service that will allow its local stations to interact with listeners via mobile phones. The free service, initially available for New York's WHTZ, WAXQ, WKTU, WWPR and WLTW, will allow users to send text messages to the studio, participate in contests, make requests, receive song alerts, and view the last ten songs played. Clear Channel said it plans to add downloads of station logos, wallpapers and ringtones later this summer, and expand the service to up to 100 of its stations by the end of 2008.
