Online Ad Firm Gorilla Nation Gets $50 Million

Los Angeles - Gorilla Nation, a provider of online advertising services, announced that it has raised $50 million in its first round of financing, from Great Hill Partners, which will receive a significant minority stake in the company.

Founded in 2001, Los Angeles-based Gorilla Nation says it operates the world's largest online advertising rep business, and also has interests in advertising technology development, online marketing services and Web content publishing.

The company will use the funds for product development, marketing, acquisitions and international expansion. Gorilla Nation plans to boost its staff from 120 to 200, and have six offices in four countries by year's end.
