Report: Microsoft Falls, Google Gains in April U.S. Search Ratings

New York - Microsoft's share of the U.S. search market fell in April, to 9% from 10.1% a month earlier, while Google advanced further ahead of the rest of the pack, growing its share from 53.7% in March to 55.2% last month, according to data from Nielsen/NetRatings.

An estimated 3.8 billion search queries were conducted at Google Search during April.

Meanwhile, Yahoo, the second most-popular U.S. search site, saw its share increase incrementally, to 21.9%.

In fourth place was AOL (5.4%), followed in fifth place by Ask.com (1.8%).
