San Mateo, Calif. - RockYou, a developer and distributor of Web widgets, announced that it has partnered with online music firms Snocap, Fliptrack, Pump Audio and Nettwerk Records. San Mateo, Calif.-based RockYou said that it now serves over 360 million free music plays each month on existing widgets, such as Web photo slideshows added to social networks and blogs. The deals will allow users of RockYou widgets to include select tracks controlled by Snocap, Fliptrack, Pump Audio and Nettwerk as background music for slideshows and other widgets. RockYou will also allow for the creation of Snocap MyStores on its site, so users can instantly purchase songs.

Music Widgets / Sonific

RockYou is cool, and it's great you now use legal music tracks with those slide shows. Just wanted to add, though, that www.sonific.com has been doing this for over 9 months, and is now supplying music widgets to over 42 platforms on the web, including Wordpress, Google, Blogger, Typepad, Slideroll, Friendster, Freewebs, Piczo, SmugMug and many others, see http://sonific.com/home/supported_sites. We are just adding another 100.000 tracks of great indie repertoire (includes V2 Records, Nettwerk, Ninja Tunes, and many strong catalogs supplied by IODA, IRIS, DRA etc) so.... there is that, too! And we will make a major announcement in about 10 days, btw ;)
