Tokyo - Sony is considering releasing an 80GB version of its PlayStation 3 game console in the U.S. and other markets following the device's launch in South Korea in June, the Associated Press reported.
The company recently discontinued a 20GB version of the PlayStation 3 in the U.S. in favor of a 60GB model.
Sony has so far shipped 5.5 million PlayStation 3 consoles worldwide, some 500,000 fewer than the company had initially projected to have shipped by this time.
