New York - Oberon Media, a publisher and distributor of casual games, announced on Thursday that it has acquired I-play, a developer of casual mobile games. While financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, Israel's Globes Online reported that Oberon will pay $110-120 million for London-based I-play, which was founded in 1998.

In conjunction with the deal, New York-based Oberon said it raised an undisclosed sum in a new financing round, from investors including Goldman Sachs, Oak Investment Partners and Lehman Brothers.

The combined company will own more than a thousand casual game titles, including "The Fast and The Furious," which has been downloaded 7 million times.

The company will also count more than 350 partners, including Microsoft, Comcast, Sprint, AT&T, Yahoo Games, Electronic Arts and AOL Games.

David Gosen, currently CEO of I-play, will lead Oberon's mobile games business worldwide.

"We are now poised to revolutionize the casual games category, offering our partners access to more than a thousand of the most popular casual games, delivered to their consumers' 'screen of choice': online, mobile and TV," said Oberon co-founder and CEO Tomer Ben-Kiki.
