Austin, Texas - FameCast, the producer of an online talent competition, has raised $4.5 million in new financing from Austin Ventures.

Austin-based FameCast encourages aspiring singers, dancers, comics, filmmakers and others to submit performance videos, which are then judged by an online community who pick finalists in each category. Finalists then perform live in Austin for the change to win $10,000.

Since launching in January, the company has received a million unique visitors and 20 million page views on the site, and has already named its first contest winners.
