The Paris Hilton Booking Photo

Paris Hilton Mugshot Checking in to the Century Regional Detention Facility a day earlier than expected, Paris Hilton took one more shot for the cameras following her appearance at the MTV Movie Awards.   You'd be forgiven for confusing it with one from the red carpet.  But no, it's the mugshot, and quite unlike any we've ever seen.  Hey, if you've got to take one, why not do it like this?  I'm not sure how to interpret it, but she actually looks pretty relaxed.  One inmate, Susannah Johnson, who was released from the jail yesterday, said, "The only advice I could give her when she comes is to shut her mouth and do the time."  Sounds like fun.

The MTV appearance was a surprise, and probably turned out differently than she had hoped after Sarah Silverman's monologue, which included plenty of Paris jokes to the delight of the audience.  One attendee, in fact, shouted, noticeably enough to be heard on television, "More time for Paris!"

Hilton is scheduled for 23 days in jail, and if the staff's assertions that she's already proven to be a "model citizen" are correct, it could be even less. "I'm really scared," she said at the award show, "but I am trying to be strong. I hope I'm setting an example to other young people."

In related news, Warner Bros, Hilton's record label, dropped the 26-year-old two days ago, with a representative releasing the statement, "We are not expecting any new Paris Hilton material in the foreseeable future." The whereabouts of her old material is still being determined.
